Description Dirk Stoecker 2014-11-18 14:06:25 UTC
See e.g. here http://josm.openstreetmap.de/ticket/10675

The 8u40 version produces

ERROR: java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: Could not initialize class com.sun.imageio.plugins.jpeg.JPEGImageReader

Searching a bit in the net I got the impression, that maybe JPEG handling changed and thus JPEG support was not compiled in?

At least it's disturbing to get more and more bug reports for JOSM. Please fix the Java package in 13.2.

I can confirm this.
The package is also/still broken in Tumbleweed.

The jar from
http://sourceforge.net/projects/sweethome3d/files/SweetHome3D/SweetHome3D-4.5/SweetHome3D-4.5.jar/download
runs with

java version "1.7.0_71"
OpenJDK Runtime Environment (IcedTea 2.5.3) (suse-5.3-x86_64)
OpenJDK 64-Bit Server VM (build 24.65-b04, mixed mode)

but not with

openjdk version "1.8.0_40"
OpenJDK Runtime Environment (build 1.8.0_40-b22)
OpenJDK 64-Bit Server VM (build 25.40-b25, mixed mode)

Does actually someone care for this bug? We already have 8 duplicate reports for this:

Fridrich, can you check this please? You seem to be the default Java:Factory bugowner ;)
Comment 4 Fridrich Strba 2015-02-17 13:14:26 UTC
Made submissions for both Factory and 13.2 that fixes this. Waiting for autobuild announce it in this bug:
