Since I switched from Argon 15.3 to Tumbleweed.

This behavior is not new and has been unchanged in libvirt for years. In order to manage host network interfaces (ethx, bondx, vlanx, bridgex, etc), libvirt needs libnetcontrol, which requires wicked. You are using NetworkManager for host network interface management, not wicked. If you really want to use libvirt for that purpose (not recommended), then switch to wicked for host network management. Otherwise libvirt should work fine without wicked.
