Plymouth textmode splash causes broken colors in terminal
Last modified: 2020-08-31 13:29:31 UTC
Plymouth is broken on aarch64 openQA tests on textmode and GNOME: * Textmode: https://openqa.opensuse.org/tests/1177011#step/first_boot/3 * GNOME: https://openqa.opensuse.org/tests/1176995#step/first_boot/11 If I disable plymouth, login prompt/screen look fine: * textmode: https://openqa.opensuse.org/tests/1177758 * GNOME: https://openqa.opensuse.org/tests/1177801#step/first_boot/3 I suspect the branding packages which have been updated recently.
The color palette restore seems to be broken. Maybe because of multiple fallbacks? Anyway, setting plymouth theme to bgrt manually "fixed" the problem (tested on textmode).
Could this bug be closed as duplicated with "Bug 1162535 - Update openSUSE Plymouth theme for 15.2 to bgrt"? because mainly discussions are on that bug. and the root cause is the same between these 2 issues. Any objection?
