Bugzilla – Bug 1139210
go1.12 - doesn't install /usr/lib64/go/1.12/misc/wasm/wasm_exec.js and others
Last modified: 2019-09-14 16:10:34 UTC
For example, programs such as https://github.com/vugu/vugu and documentation such as https://github.com/golang/go/wiki/WebAssembly expect to find wasm_exec.js at "$(go env GOROOT)/misc/wasm/wasm_exec.js". reference https://github.com/vugu/vugu/issues/33
added request https://build.opensuse.org/request/show/711830 to address the issue
I would like to open a small discussion about stuff in misc directory. There are other directories in go/misc: android/ arm/ cgo/ chrome/ git/ ios/ linkcheck/ nacl/ swig/ trace/ wasm/ benchcmp editors And from those only trace was included so far. Why not include all of them? What is the policy in opensuse? Thanks for any reaction.
Hello Pavol, Thanks for bringing this to my attention. I suspect the reason is that Go has added these areas under go/misc as part of 1.x stabilization efforts in recent versions and the manual additions to the .spec have not kept up with those additions. I agree that we should include a complete install as intended by upstream build from source instructions, with adjustments as needed for openSUSE packaging policies. Jeff Kowalczyk
Hello Jeff, thank you for your reply and also for accepting my Request. Should I add all of the go/misc dirs into the .spec? Let me know. Pavol
