Description Philipp Wagner 2018-06-25 19:13:36 UTC
texstudio contains its own update check which displays a popup dialog when a new upstream release has happened. This is confusing/wrong, since updates need to come through distro packages. For this reason the update check is commonly disabled in other packages, e.g. in Firefox.

Ubuntu also disables the update check in texstudio through a patch they ship (debian/patches/03-disable-auto-update.patch within http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/pool/universe/t/texstudio/texstudio_2.12.6+debian-2.debian.tar.xz for the patch).

Could this or a similar patch also be applied to the openSUSE package?
