Description Geoffrey Fagan 2018-06-22 02:52:40 UTC
FreeCAD, community edition of openCASCADE, and Blender fail to install from standard repo for lack of dependency libboost_system 1.66. I installed this from experimental repo and tried FreeCAD again, now failed for missing libicui18n. This happened with snapshot 20180615 but not with the one I used at the beginning of the month, 20180602 if I recall correctly.

Just package/issue per bug please. The reason is that these packages fail to build with a libboost change, and libboost has since moved on.
Comment 2 Wolfgang Bauer 2018-06-22 07:25:43 UTC
For the record, a fix for FreeCAD has been submitted already:
https://build.opensuse.org/request/show/617706

And openCASCADE is not part of the distribution AFAICS...
Comment 3 Wolfgang Bauer 2018-06-22 09:16:00 UTC
And I just submitted a fix for blender myself:
https://build.opensuse.org/request/show/618455

It failed to build because of the switch to gcc 8, not the boost update...
