Windows shown during installation look ugly, YaST does not use the icewm-theme-yast-installation package
Last modified: 2018-10-04 08:51:15 UTC
As seen here, during installation windows popping up have ugly titlebars and borders:
There is package that aims to fix this (icewm-theme-yast-installation):
Ok, do you have any screenshot *with* this package active?
Adding the package to the installation-images spec is not enough. This will not
cause it to be *used*.
For testing, booting with dud=<url_to_icewm_theme> should get the changed look. Does this work?
I will take a look, but iirc the way in which this theme in particular is structured should enable it to set up as default automatically (thanks to theme file in /etc/icewm)
Stasiek, does it work when that package is used as a DUD?
BTW, here is one quick way to run a web server to serve the RPM:
ruby -run -e httpd -- -p 8888 . &

After restarting icewm
Took a look at it, finally, and got two issues out of it:
- Icewm needs a restart (killall -SIGHUP icewm) after yast-installation is loaded (for whatever reason it loads default theme anyway during the first boot)
- It still looks pretty terrible, it seems that icewm-lite is not capable of bitmap theming (?)
Ähm, maybe I need glasses but what is so ugly here ?
Well, bitmap version is rounded and has a different shadow, ugly in this case is very much relative
So if I understand it correctly the problem is that YaST does not use the theme from the icewm-theme-yast-installation package.
