Description Christoph Feck 2018-04-03 10:17:14 UTC
Steps to reproduce:
- 7z x test.rar

Expected result:
- test.blend extracted

Actual result:
- ERROR: Unsupported Method

Workaround:
- unrar x test.rar (from non-oss repo)

test.rar downloadable here: https://developer.blender.org/F128628
but also fails with any other .rar I tried.

Hello Christoph,

Thanks for your bug report but this is a correct behaviour. We had to remove CPP/7zip/Compress/Rar* files from the p7zip package as they had an incompatible license (see bug 1077978).

Please use already mentioned unrar (non-oss repo) or unar (oss repo). Thanks!

Okey, noted. Could reassign this ticket to the people responsible for the 7z command line completer? It incorrectly globs .rar files, getting me confused frequently. I could also file a separate ticket, if you prefer.

Yes, this should be fixed. I filed a new bug for the bash-completion maintainer (see bug#1087863).
