Description Markus Zimmermann 2018-01-28 09:35:14 UTC
The FN+F12 button (has a Star icon on it) of a Thinkpad T470s is not assignable in KDE's global shortcuts. `sudo showkey --keycodes` outputs the key with keycode "364".

In 20180920 the key still does not work. One thing that is interesting when I press FN and release it without pressing any other key it puts in the key "WAKEUP". And if I hold the key for about 5 seconds during the entry of the shortcut my Thinkpad goes into suspend.

X11 only supports keycodes up to 255 (https://who-t.blogspot.com/2014/12/why-255-keycode-limit-in-x-is-real.html), that is why it is not working. It needs to be remapped to a keycode < 255 to work.

As it's not a KDE Applications issue but rather an X11 limitation, let's see what the X11 people think about it.

Check this

https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Lenovo_ThinkPad_T470

--> Some special buttons are not supported by X server due to keycode number limit.

You may need to use /usr/lib/udev/hwdb.d/ instead of /etc/udev/hwdb.d/ though.

Does this help?
