Description Connor McL 2017-12-15 10:47:45 UTC
The avr-gcc provided for Tumbleweed uses the standard assembler /usr/bin/as instead of /usr/bin/avr-as, and thus failing during cross-compilation for avr targets:

/culfw-1.67/Devices/nanoCUL> make
Compiling C: nanoCUL.c
as: unrecognized option '-mmcu=avr5'
make: *** [makefile:328: nanoCUL.o] Error 1

The current software versions are:

    avr-gcc --version
    avr-gcc (GCC) 5.4.0

    avr-as --version
GNU assembler (GNU Binutils; openSUSE Tumbleweed) 2.29.1

Assign to the correct maintainer now, thanks.
Comment 2 Stefan Brüns 2021-10-17 15:42:15 UTC
Just tested with a-culfw/nanoCUL, compilation and linking worked (after fixing some bugs in the codebase). cross-avr-{binutils,gcc11}, TW 20211012.

Please confirm.
