Description Vladimir Sadovnikov 2019-08-23 11:02:50 UTC
After last update, noticed that some X11 applications do spontaneous UI freezes.
The freeze behaves in such manner: I'm doing some mouse actions or entering some data from keyboard, and occasionally the application's UI stops to update.

If I keep it hanging, it will unhang after several time.
If I change the focus to another application and return back, the application unhangs immediately and redraws the UI in proper manner.

This case is specially noticeable with Firefox browser and Telegram messenger.
There were no noticeable freezes for such applications like Eclipse and Idea.

Does this problem still exist? What kind of desktop environment you use? Maybe a DE-related problem.
Comment 2 Vladimir Sadovnikov 2019-10-12 06:48:07 UTC
The environment is KDE, intel graphics card and KDE desktop.
When I change rendering engine in screen effects from openGL 2.0 to openGL 3.1 or back, the problem disappears.
After a reboot, the problem appears again until I manually change a rendering engine.
